Welcome to the Shadanana Songs Library, a humble devotional collection created for Thirupugazh anbargal, learners and devotees. This library brings together Guruji Sri Raghavan’s treasured Thirupugazh tunes, along with lyrics, raagam details, sthalam references, audio teachings, meaning notes and related devotional collections.

Thirupugazh has been part of our lives from childhood. We grew up listening to our mother sing Thirupugazh in the tunes set by our late grandfather, Sri T.N. Narasimha Iyer, with the blessings and devotional foundation of our grandmother, Smt. Lakshmi Narasimhan, especially in devotion to Thinniam Murugan, our mother’s Kuladeivam. Those sacred songs became part of our inner life from a very young age.

Later, when we had the blessing of learning Guruji Sri Raghavan’s Thirupugazh tunes, we were drawn to them like honey bees to nectar. This inspired us to create a learner-friendly devotional library so that others can also read, listen, practise and benefit from this Amirtham.

Our humble pranams to Guruji Sri Raghavan, whose teachings and tunes continue to guide and inspire learners in the Thirupugazh tradition. For Thirupugazh and other collections tuned by Guruji, this library includes the lyrics, Guruji’s teaching audio and available rendered versions for learning and reference. We also offer our respectful gratitude to our teacher, who comes in the lineage of teachers carrying forward Guruji Sri Raghavan’s Thirupugazh tradition.

We sincerely thank our uncle, Sri T.N. Prabhu, whose encouragement and support helped us begin our Thirupugazh learning journey in Guruji’s tradition.

Wherever other Thirupugazh groups and singers have contributed alternate renderings or reference versions, they are included with respect, to acknowledge and honour their contribution to Thirupugazh vazhipadu.

This library is lovingly dedicated to our parents. Our heartfelt thanks to our father, Dr. A. Sabesan, whose encouragement and support gave us the confidence to create this devotional library. We remember with love and gratitude our late mother, Mrs. Saraswathi Sabesan, who had wished to see such a collection made available for devotees and learners. Though the work began only after her demise, her wish continues to guide this effort.

The lyrics and meanings used in this library are based on the Kaumaram database, with gratitude and respect. This website is offered as a free devotional song library for Thirupugazh anbargal, learners and devotees to read, listen and practise with ease.

We also offer our sincere thanks to Mrs. E. JayaLakshmi, Mrs. Kalamalini Sunderarajan, Mrs. Vasanti Ganeshan and Dr. T.N. Balasubramanian for their kind support and contribution towards the meaning audio in this library. Their effort helps learners understand the devotional essence of the songs with greater clarity and devotion.

To support devotees and learners who are not comfortable reading Tamil script, English transliterated lyrics and English meanings will be added shortly. This will be introduced gradually so that non-Tamil readers can also follow, understand and practise the songs with devotion.

May this library help devotees connect with divine grace through sacred hymns, devotional music and the rich tradition of bhakti and vazhipadu.

With humble pranams,

The Shadanana Team
