For Thirupugazh, the lyrics and notes are presented as per Guruji Sri Raghavan’s song teaching. In some songs, Guruji has added devotional phrases such as “Muruga” or “Maname” or has extended an avarthanam of a verse. Such additions and singing nuances are marked in blue to show that they are part of Guruji’s teaching style. Ending notes and singing instructions are added at the end of every song, so that singers can follow the flow more easily. Where a song is available in more than one version, version-specific ending notes are clearly mentioned.
Each Thirupugazh song page includes Guruji Sri Raghavan’s teaching audio for learning and reference. Where available, we have also included the song version rendered by Smt. Uma Balasubramanian. These versions are being added gradually as we continue to learn and preserve the songs in this library. In some songs, versions rendered by other Thirupugazh groups are also included with respect, to acknowledge and honour their contribution to Thirupugazh vazhipadu.
The meaning for each song is added at the end of the song page, wherever available. Audio explanations of the meanings will also be added shortly.

The lyrics and meanings used in this library are based on the Kaumaram database, with gratitude and respect. This website is offered as a free devotional song library for Thirupugazh anbargal, learners and devotees to read, listen and practise with ease.
